Campbell River's rich native heritage is proudly showcased in the Campbell River Museum (www.crmuseum.ca), housed on the highway south of the town centre, which features a fine collection of the Northwest Coast Native masks, ceremonial items, and other fine art. The Ripple Rock detonation that made safe travel through the Seymour Narrows was one of man's biggest non nuclear explosions.
The Cambell River Optical Maritime Museum in the Dogwood Centre has a collection of over 500 maritime artifacts some dating back 2,000 years. Open year-round Monday to Thursday.
Just a short ferry ride to Quadra Island (www.quadraisland.ca) is the Kwagiolth Museum & Cultural Centre where you can view native ceremonial regalia displays. Quadra Island is also home to many artists, tours are conducted during summer months.

Discovery Passage teems with marine life. The Jacques Cousteau Society rates it the "second best cold water diving destination in the world". Crystal clear waters, abundant sea life, plus certified charters, guides and instructors have made Campbell RIver a major dive centre for beginners and experienced divers.
Watch from the surface as salmon, some as large as 50 pounds (28 kg) school in the estuary in advance of spawning while you snorkel alongside in the Campbell River.
